Getting to grips with the new building regs
Breaking
it down
Updates to Building Regulations in June 2022 saw the first raft of new sustainability requirements come into force, and busy trade audiences were left scrambling for more information on how this would impact their day-to-day job.
We know they don’t have time to dedicate hours scrolling through the minutiae of the regs – they need straight-talking advice that tells them how to complete their ever-growing job list efficiently, without falling foul of the new rules.
Breaking
the mould
We talked to the trade, to find out what they were struggling with most. We then developed an approach that broke all the information down into simple, easy to understand language that directly answered our audience’s most pressing concerns.
This couldn’t be just another guide that would be opened once and never seen again. We worked backwards from how the guide would actually be used, creating it in a mobile-first format to be read on-the-move, between jobs, in the queue at Greggs, and with clickable links to take our audience to relevant products and extra support.

Then we needed to get it to our audience. We created an Instant Experience on Facebook and Instagram to raise awareness of the content and direct tradespeople to download the guide, and followed this up with bespoke posts for each of our core audiences: plumbers, roofers, builders, and electricians. The results proved that we had given them what needed, at the precise time they were looking for answers.
